During last Thursday's meeting, it was reported that the Ministry of Tourism has pledged an investment of 79 million pesos for paving in the municipality of Sosúa, which includes our community of La Mulata. To ensure that this project does not leave our area out, a new meeting will be requested with the mayor of the municipality and ongoing monitoring will be conducted. This visit will take place on Wednesday, July 30, at 10:00 a.m. A meeting will be held at City Hall to specifically discuss the paving issue.
In addition, direct coordination will be established with the Regional Director of Tourism, Atahualpa, to secure greater institutional support.
Once the arrival of the asphalt is confirmed, work will begin on channeling the main street of La Mulata. This will include fundraising among residents to support the necessary complementary works.
Edward will be in charge of starting the Main Street assessment work next week.
Georg Fischer never gives up on improving the road every now and then.
Dear fellow residents,
We would like to give you an update on the progress of our street project! As many of you know, we are in full swing with laying asphalt on our streets, a long-awaited improvement.
Your feedback is important to us! There were people who only wanted to pay for asphalt and not for caliche, which had always been done until now on the initiative of a few co-residents, because it washes away again with the next rain. We understand this, and that is why we are focusing on a more sustainable solution. We are very happy that we have started applying asphalt!
We have already started with one truckload of asphalt, financed by the Junta. In addition, we received a great tip from Eduard Martinez (Auto Verkauf en Reparatur) for a good offer for asphalt. God willing, we expect another truckload of asphalt from the city soon, so we can continue working on our street!
We are very proud of the efforts of everyone who helps, and we also receive valuable professional support. Alex Burri, a new resident and engineer for road construction from Liechtenstein, is assisting us with his expertise. This is a huge asset and helps us to carry out the work as well as possible.
We are working hard to finish the streets before the rain comes again, otherwise all our hard work would have been for nothing. This week, the edges of the road are being thoroughly cleaned. It is vital that we carefully check where and how we can direct the water, so that it does not wash under the asphalt and carry it away, as we have already observed. Good water drainage ensures that our new road lasts much longer!
Although we are making good progress and receiving support, the money is not yet enough to fully complete the project. Every contribution counts and helps us tremendously to complete this important work!
Would you like to contribute? It's simple:
Cash payments are now accepted at Stefano Marina's motorcycle workshop.
A bank transfer is also possible.
Or see contact page for more details.
Let's continue to improve our streets together! Thank you for your support and involvement.
Thanks to your generous donations and hard work, we have already made great progress in improving our road. We are incredibly grateful for your involvement!
Although we have achieved a lot, there is still work to be done. We will soon receive a truckload of asphalt from the municipality, but before that, we still have a lot of preparatory work to do. This means that we still need financial support to get the job done.
Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a difference. Please keep donating!
Kind regards,
Secretaría Junta de Vecinos La Mulata
The second of may 2025, we had a small, important meeting about the road! Unfortunately, I have to clarify something. Anyone who believes in Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny also believes the city administration will help us with the road.
The council is still working on it, and we're now writing to the tourism office and testing everything out. We've already received some pretty high cost estimates. We'll start patching the holes as soon as it stops raining next week. Now we're a competent group helping with the implementation.
The other group will raise money. If anyone wants to help, please let me know. We're looking for an affordable solution that will last more than just a season.
Some have already pledged to pay large sums; now it's up to everyone else to follow this example so we can work successfully. Please contact me.

Below you will find the account numbers at Banreservas, which include two accounts—one in Dominican Pesos (DOP) and another in USD—in the names of Juan José Guzmán, President of the La Mulata Neighborhood Board, and Junior Hernandez, Vice President of the Board. This way, everyone can easily transfer whatever amount they can using their bank apps to help cover the cost of repairing the most damaged section of La Mulata's main road.
On Tuesday, May 6th, after the holiday, we will begin the work with the generous and professional help of Gerhard Bulla, and we will also take advantage of the offer from Mr. Gilberto Peña, who owns a road construction company. He is offering us the best prices at the moment, as his machinery and workers are currently operating in the area.
We are also continuing to engage with the authorities, and we would appreciate it if any neighbors could assist us with their contacts to secure at least partial support for the road repairs.
I INVITE EVERYONE TO COLLABORATE! UNITED WE ARE STRONG!
We're excited to announce that the City Council (Urban Planning) has begun the process of readapting the streets of La Mulata. Today january 10th, members of the council visited the area to inspect the streets and discuss plans for the project.
We believe this project will have a significant positive impact on the community. By improving the streets, we can make La Mulata a more beautiful and welcoming place for everyone.
The City Council is committed to making La Mulata a more beautiful and livable place.
