Research 

Our main goals and approaches are as following:

1) Introducing and establishing different cutting-edge technologies, Combinatory Barcoding single-cell RNA-seq, CITE-seq (Cellular Indexing of Transcriptomes and Epitopes by Sequencing), Spectral Flow Cytometry Analysis (30+ markers), Metagenomic Analysis, and 16S rRNA Analysis to profile Immune cells and gut microbiota in different disease models to collect multi-omics data (Big data collections). 

2) Use of artificial intelligence to predict target genes and gut microbiome that manage immune responses (Machine learning model prediction). 

3) Ultimately functionally validate predicted targets, mainly immunological genes and gut microbial mixes, in vivo that manage the immune systems and disease progression.  

我們實驗室目標在於小鼠疾病模型或人類檢體中利用新穎多體學技術收集大數據,並使用人工智慧預測腸道微生物或免疫標靶。最後於動物實驗中驗證預測的標靶是否調控免疫系統與疾病進程。

Current lab or collaborative studies are as following but not limited to:

Interrogate the interplays between Helminths, Microbiome, and Type 2 Immunity during atherosclerosis progression and regression.


Research Goals of human Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma (PDAC):


1) Identify key immune biomarkers for early diagnosis of PDAC patients from blood.

2) Identify critical immune cell subsets contributing to PDAC progression.

3) Identify the critical associations between microbiome and immune cell subsets in PDAC patients.

Functional validations of Probiotics in Atherosclerosis (AS):


1) Explore immunological regulations of Live biotherapeutic products (LBP) and Next Generation Probiotics (NGP) candidates during AS.


2) Determine physiological effects of LBP and NGP during AS progression and regression.  

Explore gut immunological regulations of Probiotcs in Parkinsons Disease progression.
