Adolescents
Adolescence is full of decisions, hormones, pressure, and exploration of the self. Our adolescents today are being bombarded by information at every corner and as a result are often being exposed to things that their brains are not developmentally able to process or understand. Many experts in the medical and mental health field are reporting an increase in adolescent cases of depression, anxiety, ADHD, Autism, PTSD, and suicide. When working with adolescents I typically approach sessions using experiential, mindful, and somatic therapies including but not limited to learning emotional regulation, emotional IQ, boundary setting, and coping mechanisms as they explore their insecurities, identity, boundaries, and self expression.
The following are common issues I have seen and worked with in my adolescent clients:
Attention Deficit (ADHD)
Depression
Grief/Loss
Coping Skills
Self Esteem

Anxiety
Self Awareness
Trauma and PTSD
Parent/Child Relations
