Arduino Single Board Computer:
The Arduino is often used with a Raspberry Pi Single-Board Computer (SBC).
The Raspberry Pi is a fully functional computer shrunk
down to the size of a credit card. It features a microprocessor,
RAM, USB ports, HDMI video output, and runs a complete operating
system (typically a Linux-based OS like Raspberry Pi OS, Ubuntu,
or Fedora).
Arduino Board is not a full computer; it is a micro controller.
It does not contain an operating system. Instead, you write a
single piece of code (usually in C or C++) on your
main Raspberry Pi computer, upload it to the Arduino, and the
board runs that exact code loop over and over again the moment
it receives power. (It Runs one loop of code on OS)
Common Uses for Arduino:
Arduino excels at real-time execution, low-latency hardware
interaction, and basic automation. Robotics & Motor Control
Directly driving stepper motors, servos, and wheels for
autonomous rovers, robotic arms, or 3D printers.
Sensor Monitoring & Data Logging:
Read values from environmental sensors (temperature,
humidity, barometric pressure) and displaying them on
an LCD screen. Simple Automation: Controlling a relay to
turn a water pump on when soil moisture drops too low,
or triggering an alarm when a motion sensor goes off.
Perfect for home security and monitoring things in the home.
