As the appointed Lead of PeBS (Ketua PeBS) by the Selangor Government for DUN Bukit Gasing, I oversee the youth-driven initiative aimed at promoting positive change among young individuals. Within my role, I am responsible for a team of five members. Together, we co-lead and supervise various events, including competitions, community grant projects, and youth engagement activities.
BG Small Grant
In this event, our role was to act as the grant provider, offering community grants to support three youth-empowered projects.
As part of this initiative, we allocated funds to these projects and assigned one to two members to facilitate and supervise their execution.
The three projects we worked on were as follows: Community Day (Wood craft and Batik workshop), Project X (after school club) and Pet Adoption.
Public Policy Mentoring Sessions
The 6-week public policy mentoring sessions are designed to offer undergraduate students and young working adults a platform to explore and express their interest in policy making.
In my role, I primarily oversee the logistic arrangements for the sessions and contribute to the planning of some activities.
Additionally, I volunteered to take on the role of a facilitator throughout the mentoring sessions, guiding and supporting the participants in their policy-related discussions and activities.
Financial Literacy Session
Engaged with a boarding learning center and financial trainer to deliver Financial Literacy sessions for teenagers.
Human Trafficking Workshop
Collaborated with an NGO to raise awareness among youth and young adults about human trafficking.
BG Podcast
Invited expert speakers from various fields (such as Real Estate and Personal Finance...) to enhance the knowledge development of the youths.
Collaborated with a local coffee shop to provide insights into non-conventional careers, such as becoming a barista.
Promoted sustainable practices for waste disposal among youths and the community, encouraging responsible handling of household waste and items.
BG Community Day
Promoted wood craft and "Batik" as Malaysia's specialties by engaging youths and the community in a series of activities during Community Days.
Provided a platform for youths to network and bond through casual sessions.
Encouraged a healthier lifestyle and fostered youth bonding through sports activities.
