Cure expressed that their website will be removing some pages and wanted to make changes to better serve users. The overall initial thoughts of the site were
Clean and Precise
Great use of images/videos
Simple for intended audience
My Team after using the cure website created a script with tasks and questions for usability testing and interviews. Next we interviewed six participants and had them complete various tasks such as finding pages, information, and forms and questioned them throughout the process.
Findings
Participates complained about the information displayed, saying the following “you think you are at the end when there is more”
Thought the selection boxes from the signup form on the right side was a part
of the blog page (Misleading & Distracting)
Does not like the blog popping up in new tab
The collected data was then synthesized further into pros and cons of the taks answered, this helped my team figure out if the problem the users were encountering were the same as in the debrief given from cure and what the user would prefer if changed.
The goals for Cure’s website were visualized after synthesizing further.
Simplify information output
Condense header/pages for navigation
Add Page specifically for sign up forms
After completing the goals made for the participants' answer next came the changes.
A prototype was made for the header of the website, 1 of the five headers were removed (What We Do) section.
Next a interactive header was made displaying the new page which is called “connected’, it takes all the signup forms throughout the site and turns it into one page while also answering mini questions such as email spam, email frequency, email engagement and gives new option for specific sign up (blog, weather concerns, events).
The next steps for Cure’s website are subtracting specific pages and re-configuring the information given to the users. The participants talked about how pages were either too short or too lengthy and by condensing what's given you give users the core of what's important. Working through each page and simplifying the layout and including more images would be my very next steps towards improving the usability of Cure’s website.
