My work has been continously recognized by renowned publication outlets indicated through various best paper nominations and awards. Our research papers have received best paper awards at HICSS (2020) and DESRIST (Barev et al. winning the Vinton G. Cerf Award in 2020, Tolzin et al. winning the Best Paper Award in 2023), was first runner-up at ICIS (2020) for the best theory paper and first runner-up at WI 2017 for the best prototype paper. His contribution on Gamification published in EJIS was awarded by the German AIS chapter as second runner-up of the AISD first award (award recipient was Sofia Schöbel).  In addition, my work was continously nominated as best papers at ICIS (2015; 2020), ECIS (2014), HICSS (2020, 2023).  For his service to the Association for Information Systems (AIS), Andreas was named AIS Distinguished Member Cum Laude in 2022.

My teaching efforts were recognized especially through awards for students that I supervised. These theses were recognized by the German Gesellschaft für Informatik (GI) for the best E-Learning Bachelor Thesis 2015 (Bachelor student: Julia Nölker)as well as the by the Fujitsu NEXT IT Innovation Award 2020 (Bachelor student: Felix Hupfeld). In the context of teaching, I was also a member of the "Flipped Classroom Concept for IS Lectures" project that was awarded with the AIS Award for Innovation in Teaching to my Ph.D. supervisor Jan Marco Leimeister
