Tenure is something teachers earn through their actions, commitment and dedications throughout their teaching career. This is to say that I fully understand that is an earned privilledge. I have been working at P186x for the last 4 years, and I believe based on my actions throughout my teaching career, I should receive tenure. Throughout my teaching career, I have been observed formally and informally and had positive feedback as well as to improve. Over the last four years, my performance has been effective. Overall, in the area of teaching and instruction, I have received positive ratings. I have consistently reflected on and responded to any feedback and have remained motivated to improve the teaching-learning environment through varied instructional approaches. Through my observation, I have demonstrated proper classroom management, using effective assessment in instruction, and being able to build rapport with students. Based on the assessment that I have given my students have shown that my leadership in the classroom has driven my students to succeed. My assessment proved I have elicited evidence of student understanding, and by doing this I am giving my students a better hope to live a life as dynamic members of society. My goal is to give my students an equitable education so they can progress and become independent. Throughout my teaching, I have helped students prepare to move to less restrictive classes. My instructional practice makes this possible. During lesson planning, I always look at my students' individual needs and goals and invariably find ways that I can support them meeting their goals. To meet my students' individual needs I always do research, communicate with my colleagues, bring up questions to PLC meetings, and much more. Finally, over the past four years, I have demonstrated my commitment to actively serving students, and the schools. Throughout the last four years, I have attended multiple professional developments as well as had inter-visitations with colleagues at the main site and off-site buildings. Attending professional development meetings has helped me improve my teaching abilities and helped me to learn new techniques to implement in the classroom.
