Elavjr is a simplification of the Dungeons & Dragons role playing system, built for a one-shot with a group of first-time TTRPG players.
This project focused on two aspects. The first was creating a world by the name of Elavjr, where the landmasses have been cracked into multiple floating islands known as 'Fractures', and adventurers roam the lands in search of relics from the Old Empire. The second was designing my own take on the D&D system, trying to simplify it for newer players while adding and modifying features, as a way to experiment and gain knowledge in Game Design.
After a few sessions of testing I saw flaws in some parts of the rulebook, which I ultimately took as a sign that I managed to differenciate Elavjr's system enough, even though it did not fully work in some aspects. I would like to iterate Elavjr's design in the future.
