Happy 2020! I always find NYE rejuvenating and refreshing. It's the perfect time for creating some art.
Waiting Rooms, UGH!
I am a positive person. I can take most things in stride, however June tested me! I am a generally healthy person. I am blessed to feel good most of the time. That being said, I got a whopper of a migraine on June 6th and it was followed by a rebound migraine that lasted until June 14th. Two clinic visits and three Emergency Department trips later I got hit with a sinus infection that turned into a lower respiratory infection. I was not feeling myself for most of June. My body forced me to take a clear look at my priorities and realize what was truly important. I am thankful that the doctors I worked with were amazing! I am thankful that I was able to get the meds that I needed and I am looking forward to savoring each precious moment in July! Feeling like you can get out of bed in the morning is not something to be taken for granted! My summer goal: Take care of my body!!!
It is very difficult for us as a family to say, "Yes, we'll put our savings into our home, instead of a vacation". We're not in a position financially to do both. That makes our home improvement plans so very important. We need to be so excited about them that we don't miss our trip.
Once we've decided to go ahead we're all in. Next week we meet with a contractor. We have plans for our bathroom, kitchen cabinets and eventually floors. It's very exciting!
1) Bathroom (Spring)
2) Exterior Doors- We need some color! (Summer)
3) Flooring (Fall) This one is a we'll see how we're doing, because we're realistic!
Maxx has requested that we devote our March to creating art. I'm starting to gather supplies and ideas. I'm excited!
IDEAS:
We always take the month of February to devote our energy to refocus on our financial goals. This means no credit cards, no unnecessary purchases and being very mindful of where we are spending our funds. Two big shares (and it's only the 8th):
1) Buy frozen fruit and veg, especially if trying new recipes that include breakfast smoothies.
2) thredup.com will pay you with a prepaid Visa for your used clothing. In true Kondo style, go through your clothing and only keep those that bring you JOY, then send the rest in by printing a clean-out kit label and they will process your order. This is not going to produce fat stacks of cash, however it is more convenient than driving them to a donation center and it gets them to the hands of someone else who will use and love them!
& DUH, we just need to remember...PLAY BOARD GAMES!!!
I am trying to build my journaling into my daily routine, well OK, let's say weekly routine. There are some nights when there is just too much going on and I just want to read and go to bed. Journaling brings me joy, but it's the first thing I push aside when I get busy. I will journal in January!
