I love that Facebook offers amazing groups that gather like-minded people. One of my groups, MN State Park Campers, shared many tips for improving the life of your tent while enhancing your joy during camping! A true win-win! This fall we cleaned, waterproofed, and rolled our tents safely storing them for spring when we'll need them for our grand adventure.
We also invested in cots to go along with our sleeping rolls. We've had the green tent for many years (ten plus) and we just picked up the orange tent on Marketplace for $50. It's a bit smaller and should be manageable for the two of us.
Camping multiple nights in a tent means you need to start stretching now. Well, at least for me it does. Getting back into a yoga routine is always important in the fall of the year because it signals the start of work (a.k.a. the school year), meaning hours and hours of standing on cement floors. Stretching and increasing my miles walked per week is my goal this fall. I want to feel energized and excited to see the sites when we leave in June. I know doing the prep work now will decrease my physical fatigue and also my overall discomfort caused by sitting for hours while driving (Yay, roadtrip!) and sleeping in a tent.
