The Brief for this project was to create a costume inspired by a historical painting. I aimed to create a costume which would be up to the standards of a museum or historical reenactment. I did this by sticking to period accurate fabrics, historical pattern cutting and making sure all visible stitches were hand sewn.

One of the main skills I developed through this project was learning about tailoring and pattern cutting of the era. I pad stitched layers of canvas into the doublet to create the correct shape, as well as making sure all visible stitching was hand sewn.
