After taking the "Am I ADDICTED TO SOCIAL MEDIA?" Quiz, I came to a realization that I have a healthy relationship with social media! the results states
Psychologists estimate that as many as 5 to 10% of Americans meet the criteria for social media addiction today. But luckily, that's not you! Not checking social media every few minutes doesn't make you feel anxious, as you prefer to live 'in the moment' rather than through your apps. You use social media to your advantage, at work and to connect with friends and family, but you know when to put it away.
I didn't think that my relationship with social media was healthy but I'm glad that I do because now I know I am on a good path, and I need to continue what I'm doing to maintain a healthy relationship.
An interesting statistic I found in the articles that were provided was how young U.S. adults are far more likely to use Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok. I frequently use TikTok and Instagram throughout the day so I can relate to this graph.
In my opinion, social media has both a negative and positive impact on society. I experience the more positive side of social media i.e. advertisements, political news, community services, and supporting small businesses. However, on the negative side, I've developed insecurities from comparing myself to other people I see on social media.
