Why I switched from the senna gas pipe method

In my droid I modified the Senna Gas Pipe Method to better fit my droid. I wanted the center of the droid to be open so I could use a Harbor Freight Ammo Box as a real battery box. I also already had a hole for the pipe in the frame and also still wanted the ease of leg removal if ever needed for transportation.

my method uses 2 #pipe's and flanges attached to the body uprights this pipe functions as the outer pipe. on each leg there is a 3/4" pipe. The 3/4" pipe is welded to the flange this is a new addition because after drilling too many holes in the pipe for the angle, I replaced the pipe using normal epoxy instead of JB weld (aka Cold welding) this was a mistake because the normal epoxy cracked when the droid went out in the cold. See picture below to see a R2 fallen which was the reason for getting it welded.

Upgrades I have done since coming up with this design

weld the 3/4" pipe to the flange
use bolts instead of coder pins in the attachment of the legs
drill the bottom hole larger to allow the bolt to pinch the inner pipe to the outer pipe
grind down the lip created when pipe is cut on pipe cutter

Lessons Learned

measure twice drill once
ACE will cut pipes in half and not thread the ends if needed (Free if bought from them only a couple bucks if bought else where)
use a large angle finder to get the angle exactly 36 Degrees
