Sculpting the Future is a narrative driven game where you collect items, meet characters with distinct personalities and rebuild the town statue in the hope you can inspire the people of this little town.
This project was made as a school assignment for Project Context II at HKU.
Our client for this project, Impact Makers wanted to showcase their toolkit for artist and the 9 Dimensions it included in a more interactive way.
Our team consisted of:
Ralph Burgers
Dion Atsma
Lex Vermeulen
Elias Malinovskaya
Ethan van Hasselt
Martha Ludwig
Nina Buurman (Alex)
As one of the artist in our team I worked mainly on the 3D components in our game and the environment together with one of our designers.
After we decided on what the town would look like I started sketching the buildings.
I made the buildings in my first blockout a lot rounder and less detailed, trying to stay in an Animal crossing inspired style. But it didn't emtirely work for the atmosphere of the game. So I decided to completely restart the blockout.
For the new buildings I decided to make 3 bases, so we could reuse them but still have enough diversity in the town.
