Goal: To enable business colleagues to efficiently use Generative AI tools for content creation, document generation, and interactive training activities.
Audience: Business colleagues responsible for training creation and delivery across the organization.
Format: A self-paced, multi-modal microlearning series (7 Units) delivered via SharePoint with an embedded Dashboard (PDF).
Resource Constraint: The design utilized only internal tools, leveraging PowerPoint as the primary production engine for all multi-modal assets.
The project was launched in response to an immediate demand for AI literacy and applications, identified through initial surveys and team requests.
The Gap: Learners lacked foundational knowledge of Generative AI prompt engineering and were unaware of which tools were appropriate for different content creation needs.
Audience Needs: Learners required practical, step-by-step guidance that respected their time, with immediate application leading to workday efficiency.
My design process adopted the Successive Approximation Model (SAM) for rapid prototyping and iteration, proving that high-quality learning can be created within resource limitations.
Agile Scaffolding: The curriculum is structured into three clear phases (Foundation, Creation, Reflection) to manage Cognitive Load and build skills sequentially. This structure also facilitates Agile, iterative updates as AI tools rapidly change.
Multi-Modal Requirement: The strategy utilized the simple toolset (PowerPoint) to create a rich 4-in-1 media mix, directly addressing the audience's need for Just-in-Time (JIT) and diverse learning preferences (auditory, visual, read/write).
Governance Focus: Unit 7 (Ethics and Responsible AI Use) was included as a required capstone to ensure organizational compliance and instill critical thinking, moving beyond tool tutorials.
The solution is a comprehensive, modular learning experience, organized into a clear dashboard structure:
4-in-1 Assets: Each unit provides maximum accessibility, including a Podcast-style audio (on-the-go), a Video Slideshow, PowerPoint Slides with Notes (reference), and Step-by-Step Video Tutorials (how-to guides).
Unit 6 (LXD Focus): Demonstrates the advanced use of basic tools to deliver LXD-focused interactive training activities (e.g., matching games, quizzes) without requiring custom e-learning software.
Course Resources: Includes a comprehensive SOP for AI Use (Guidebook) and a 15-question quiz for knowledge assessment.
The primary outcome was the immediate application of skills, proving the value of efficient, self-paced learning.
Performance Impact (Level 3): Learners successfully increased their knowledge and use of Generative AI, leading to more efficient content creation and freeing up time spent on manual tasks.
Efficiency Metric: Time previously spent on manual drafting was significantly reduced as learners adopted prompt engineering for efficiency.
