Dissonance is a Subclass concept for Destiny 2 that I designed and wrote a document for over an 8-week period. It tries to provide new and interesting gameplay loops for each of the game's classes, granting roles or abilities I feel they lack (such as a truly high-damage Super for Warlocks).
The Subclass is themed around sound, with a vibrant red colour palette and various ability / keyword names that reference sound.
Pictured below are icons for each of the Subclass' elemental keywords, designed by a friend of mine, Louis (Artstation Link: https://www.artstation.com/mrstranger). Green icons are for buffs and red icons are for debuffs.
Draining Rounds: Grants Dissonance weapons lifesteal proportional to the damage they inflict.
Reverberation: Deals small damage-over-time and makes enemies more susceptible to Draining Rounds and Madness.
Piercing: Grants a +40% damage boost, but only to Critical Hits (aka headshots).
Harmony: Grants 20% ability energy to the non-Super ability with the least charge.
Madness: forces enemies to fight their allies, dealing an extra 50% damage to each other! When used on a player it limits their HUD's information and makes it possible for them to commit friendly fire with their abilities.
Here's an excerpt from the design document on a Titan Aspect, Ravenous Lunge - with the design diagram included!
Ravenous Lunge: After sprinting for 2 seconds, while sliding, the player can use a Melee Ability charge to lunge forwards by 30 metres, dealing 1500 damage to any enemy directly hit and applying 50 Madness in a 10-metre area-of-effect detonation around the player when they land. This Ability has Melee lock-on tracking like Shoulder Charges, but a slightly less aggressive version. Grants two fragment slots.
Ravenous Lunge is the Dissonance version of the classic “Titan slide melee” aspects, effectively granting the player two melee abilities to choose from. It acts as a gap-closer, making the player push forwards to allow them to keep up the aggression. The Maddening area of effect makes it so the player isn’t just leaping directly into danger, as most small enemies at the site of impact will aggro other enemies. It’s heavily inspired by Warwick from League of Legends (2009), specifically his Ultimate ability!

In addition to Louis, I had two other friends who helped on this project - Charlotte (who provided some concept art) and Charlie (who provided sound effects for the class's Super abilities).
