The 27th Short Course on Aerosol Science

Overview:

In this Short Course, lectures entitled “Introduction to Aerosol Science” and “Introduction to Aerosol Measurement” will be offered.

In “Introduction to Aerosol Science,” based on the Aerosol Technology, 3rd Edition supervised by the Japan Association of Aerosol Science and Technology, participants will learn the history of aerosol science, various definitions of particle size, methods for representing and statistically processing particle size distributions, and particle behavior in gases such as sedimentation and diffusion, all explained clearly from the fundamentals.

In “Introduction to Aerosol Measurement,” using the association’s textbook Short Course on Aerosol Science – Measurement Edition, the fundamentals of aerosol measurement will be introduced, including particle size measurement, number and mass concentration measurement, particle size classification, and component analysis.

This course is primarily intended for those who are new to aerosol science. However, participants of all experience levels are welcome, regardless of membership status. It is also recommended for those wishing to review and organize their fundamental knowledge.

Participants planning to attend the 21st Young Researchers’ Discussion Meeting, which will be held after this course, are also encouraged to join.
