At Isla Vista Elementary, a Nationally Recognized Professional Learning Community (PLC), we are committed to educating the whole child by fostering academic excellence, belonging, responsibility, and respect. I believe every child deserves to feel seen, valued, and challenged, and that a strong partnership between home and school is essential to every student's success.

It is an honor and privilege to serve as the principal of this remarkable school community. As a bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural educator, I have dedicated my career to serving students and families throughout the Central Coast as a teacher, instructional leader, and administrator. As a first-generation college graduate, I understand the transformative power of education and the importance of ensuring every child and every family feels welcomed, respected, and empowered.

Before joining Goleta Union School District, I served as the Assistant Principal at Adams Elementary School in Santa Barbara Unified School District. I also served as an Elementary English Language Development Teacher on Special Assignment, was a published curriculum writer, a South Coast Writing Project Fellow, and a South Coast Science Project Teacher Leader. These experiences have reinforced my belief that students thrive when they are surrounded by caring adults, meaningful opportunities, and high expectations.

¡Bienvenidos a la Escuela Primaria Isla Vista!

En la Escuela Primaria Isla Vista, una Comunidad Profesional de Aprendizaje (PLC) reconocida a nivel nacional, estamos comprometidos con la formación integral de cada estudiante, fomentando la excelencia académica, el sentido de pertenencia, la responsabilidad y el respeto. Creo que todos los estudiantes merecen sentirse vistos, valorados y desafiados, y que una sólida colaboración entre el hogar y la escuela es fundamental para el éxito de cada niño.

Es un honor y un privilegio servir como directora de esta extraordinaria comunidad escolar. Como educadora bilingüe, biliterata y bicultural, he dedicado mi carrera a servir a estudiantes y familias de la Costa Central como maestra, líder educativa y administradora. Como primera persona de mi familia en graduarse de la universidad, comprendo el poder transformador de la educación y la importancia de garantizar que cada estudiante y cada familia se sientan bienvenidos, respetados y empoderados.

Antes de unirme al Distrito Escolar Union de Goleta, fui subdirectora de la Escuela Primaria Adams del Distrito Escolar Unificado de Santa Bárbara. También fui Maestra en Asignación Especial de Desarrollo del Idioma Inglés (ELD), autora de materiales curriculares publicados, integrante del South Coast Writing Project y maestra líder del South Coast Science Project. Estas experiencias han fortalecido mi convicción de que los estudiantes prosperan cuando están rodeados de adultos que se preocupan por ellos, oportunidades significativas y altas expectativas.
