Volunteers
Volunteer with the PTA during distance learning
The PTA is actively working with the school and teachers to identify ways volunteers can help support student learning during remote learning.
Clerical Support: Help put together weekly classroom materials packets or similar tasks. Work must be done off-campus. Teacher will leave materials and instructions at the IVE office for pick up. Goleta Union School District Volunteer form must be on file with Office Manager Blanca Castor at time of pick up. Contact your teacher directly to help with this work.
Room Parent/ Classroom Community Builder. Work with the classroom teacher to distribute class specific information, create and distribute a classroom roster, and coordinate virtual social activities to support classroom community building. Should our school move to hybrid or onsite learning, the Room Parent role might adjust but will continue to support the objective of building classroom. The Goleta Union School District Volunteer form must be on file with Office Manager Blanca Castro before working with families. Sign up in the Parent Square Room Parent.
Virtual Tutor: Support student learning in large or small groups in a virtual Zoom classroom setting.
Partners In Education will post and fill all virtual tutoring opportunities. Volunteers will be screened and fingerprinted, at no cost to the volunteer.
Please apply through Partners In Education https://partnersined.sbceo.org/requests/volunteer.php
Select Virtual Tutor (to support students in small groups) and Classroom Buddy (to support a teacher in a large group classroom). Screening takes about two weeks to complete. Apply now and you will be notified when volunteer jobs become available at Isla Vista Elementary.
