DGSC

In 2022 I was elected as a large representative for the Doctoral and Graduate Students Council (DGSC) of the Graduate Center. The DGSC represents and advocates for CUNY students; it meets monthly to discuss concerns, opportunities and proposals that may result in actions taken and are communicated to other policy-makers bodies within the university.

Programme of Adult Literacy and Education

From 2012 to 2016 I was a member of the Rural Programme of Adult Literacy and Education coordinated by Colegio Madrid Highschool in Mexico City. Since 1985, everyyear a group of teacher and students of it prepare themselves during six months for teaching in rurals and indigenous communities in Mexico.

We were inspired by Paulo Freire's activism and work. We read and discussed Freire's work and believed in liberating, horizontal education. Every year we found ourselves realizing that the project was deeply transformative, not only for how much we lear from each other but also for the friendiships we were able to form in that time.

The project is still running it is self-funded. If you are willing to support it you can find more information here.
