Microsoft Outlook uses the .pst format, also known as personal storage table, for archiving emails, contacts and calendar events.
Open the Outlook app
Select the messages you want to save. We recommend creating a folder and move all of the messages you want to save in this specific folder.
From the File menu < Choose Open & Export < Click the Import/Export option
Select Export to a file < Click the Next button
Select the Outlook Data File (.pst) option < Click the Next button
Choose the folder that contains the messages you want to export
Click the Next button
Choose a location, name for the backup file, and other additional options as needed
Select the Finish button

To save an Outlook email as a.pst file, you have to use a third-party tool to convert the Outlook for Mac (.olm) file format to a .PST file.
Open the Outlook app
Select the messages you want to export. We recommend creating a folder and move all of the messages you want to save in this specific folder.
Go to File < Click on Export
From the options, select what you want to export and Click Continue
Choose a location and name for the file. The file is now being saved as an archive .olm file.
Once your data is exported < Click the Finish button
Next, you will need to convert the .olm file to a .pst format
