Dear Students
Student who meets the eligible criteria may apply for bursary and receive ONE bursary in each academic year of study.
If you were awarded a bursary in the 1st year of study, you will be auto-awarded the same bursary in the 2nd/3rd year of the same course of study, except for Diploma students.
Please note that you DO NOT need to resubmit the bursary application:
if you have received the bursary in Year 1 of your study, bursary in Year 2/3 of your study will be auto-processed and you will be notified when you are awarded.
if you have received the bursary in the same academic year unless there's change in your household income.

DEADLINE
Students may apply for bursary via Student Portal by 3 Sep 2025 for Phase 3 bursary processing.

If you applied (with complete income documents) by 3 Sep, you can check the award status in end-September via Student Portal

Bursary will be credited to your PayNow/GIRO account in October 2025.
You should register your NRIC to your PayNow account if you have not done so.
If you missed the deadline, you may still proceed to submit your bursary application via Student Portal. Your application will be processed under Phase 4 processing.

CRITERIA
Singapore Citizen (SC) student in a full-time ITE course
Students must not be on sponsorship or full scholarship
Gross Monthly Household Income (GHI) ≤ $10,000 or Gross Monthly Household Per Capita Income (PCI) ≤ $2,500
ACCEPTABLE INCOME DOCUMENT
You are required to upload one income document for each of the working family member. The accepted document in PDF/JPEG formats are:
Latest full-month payslip
CPF Contribution History of recent 6 months (You may refer to this link on how to retrieve CPF contribution history statement).
Latest Income Tax Assessment Statement
Completed Section A of Income Declaration Form (To be used only if working family member is not able to get any one of the above document, or working family member has a job with irregular monthly pay such as private hire driver, hawkers etc)
Completed Section B of Income Declaration Form (To be used only if no one in the family is working and not able to produce Income Tax Assessment Statement / CPF Statement since not required to contribute)
VERIFICATION OF APPLICATION
The application will be verified based on the information and income document uploaded to determine the income tier for bursary to be awarded.
Staff will contact the student in the event that information/document provided is not sufficient. Please ensure the contact number(s) and email address(es) at ITE Student Portal are up-to-date.
BURSARY AWARDED BASED ON INCOME TIER
The Ministry of Education (MOE) has revised the income eligibility criteria and also increased the quanta of government bursaries for full-time ITE students from AY2023.
You will receive a bursary (through PayNow registered to NRIC number) based on your family's Gross Monthly Household Income (GHI) or Gross Monthly Household Per Capita Income (PCI) based on the lower tier.
Tier 1: For GHI ≤ $3,000 or PCI ≤ $750, student will receive the Higher Education Community Bursary (HECB) of $1,600
Tier 2: For $3,000< GHI ≤ $4,400 or $750 < PCI ≤ $1,100, student will receive the Higher Education Community Bursary (HECB) of $1,300
Tier 3: For $4,400 < GHI ≤ $7,500 or $1,100 < PCI ≤ $1,825, student will receive the Higher Education Bursary (HEB) of $650
Tier 4: For $7,500 < GHI ≤ $10,000 or $1,825 < PCI ≤ $2,500, student will receive the Higher Education Bursary (HEB) of $440

RECEIVING BURSARY AWARD
The bursary, if awarded, will be credited to the bank account you have registered your NRIC number at PayNow. Students who previously have GIRO with ITE will receive the bursary payment via the GIRO.
