PROVINCIAL AVERAGES IN CAT 2025
The Computer Applications Technology (CAT) provincial results highlight strong performance across several centres. Clarendon Girls’ High School achieved an impressive average subject mark of 76.49%, followed by Holycross Education Centre with 71.65%, and Soqhayisa Senior Secondary School with a commendable 70.8%. These results reflect the continued commitment to excellence in CAT teaching and learning across the province.
PROVINCIAL AVERAGES IN IT IN 2025
The Information Technology (IT) provincial results showcase outstanding achievement across top-performing centres. Pearson High School led with an average subject mark of 81.1%, followed by Umtata High School at 78.3%, and Grey Boys’ High with a strong 77.7%. These results reflect the high standard of IT teaching and learner performance within the province.
SELBORNE COLLEGE - IT
The Buffalo City Metropolitan District proudly recognises excellence in Information Technology in the 2025 NSC examinations. Brett Tyler of Selborne College is sharing an outstanding first place in the district with 97% for IT, reflecting exceptional dedication and academic excellence.
The district also acknowledges Geneva Ndlovu for her invaluable support and guidance in assisting Brett Tyler to attain this remarkable achievement. Congratulations to both learner and educator on this well-deserved success, which highlights the strong standard of IT education within the BCM District.

CLARENDON - CAT
The Buffalo City Metropolitan District proudly celebrates outstanding achievement in Computer Applications Technology (CAT) and Information Technology (IT) in the 2025 NSC examinations. Clarendon High School for Girls once again demonstrated excellence, with Layla Khandoo achieving first place in the district for CAT with an exceptional 95%, and Jessica Lloyd sharing first place in the district with an outstanding 97%.
CLARENDON - IT
These achievements were made possible through the dedicated guidance and support of their educators. Angela Haschick is recognised for her invaluable role in supporting Layla Khandoo’s CAT success, while Tony Roberson is commended for his contribution to Jessica Lloyd’s IT achievement. The district congratulates all learners and educators on these remarkable accomplishments, which reflect the high standard of teaching and learning in BCM.
WELL DONE, MISS GEDDIE!
A CAT student who become a Computer Teacher! Miss Geddie has taught from the Foundation Phase up to Grade 12, sharing her passion for computers with all!
Congratulations to Miss Geddie for coming second in the Eastern Cape in the 'Excellence in IT' category at the provincial NTA Awards!

2025 APPLICATIONS OLYMPIAD FINALIST:
Clarendon and the BCM District is exceptionally proud of Grade 12 pupil, Layla Khandoo, who has been invited to the Final Round of the 2025 Applications Olympiad, which will be held in Gauteng from the 30 June - 2 July. Layla placed tied 1st in the Eastern Cape for Round 2 of the Olympiad.
Well done, Layla, we are proud of you. All the best for the next round!
Schools in the Eastern Cape Province are showing gradual improvement in performance of Computer Applications Technology and Information Technology. These performances are not only in quantity but also in quality. One indicator that shows the improvement in quality is the subject average percentage.

Grey was placed 5th in the country for IT. This was based on the number of distinctions they had. Congratulations Mr M. Sammons with the excellent work you are doing!
BCM District: Mrs. Jordaan the district Subject Advisor congratulating Mr Roberson form Clarendon Girls High, with his 100% pass as well as his excellent achievement of getting the highest subject average (84%) in the Province.
One of his students Paige Gulle got the highest mark for IT in the district with 92%.
