CAT /IT SUBJECT AVERAGE IN NSC 2024

Schools in the Eastern Cape Province are showing gradual improvement in performance of Computer Applications Technology and Information Technology. These performances are not only in quantity but also in quality. One indicator that shows the improvement in quality is the subject average percentage.

Below are the top 3 schools in subject average percentage in Eastern Cape Province for both CAT & IT

BCM District: Mrs. Jordaan the district Subject Advisor congratulating Mr Roberson form Clarendon Girls High, with his 100% pass as well as his excellent achievement of getting the highest subject average (84%) in the Province.  

One of his students Paige Gulle got the highest mark for IT in the district with 92%

The Eastern Cape had their first BBC Micro:bit Award Ceremony

The ceremony was a hybrid event with learners from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan District and Buffalo City Metropolitan District meeting and celebrating their success together.  We were fortunate to have Mr. Fareez Bridgens and Mr. Louwincan Jooste honoring us with their presence in Gqebera and East London. Second Place -   Beaconhurst High School with tablets for all  second place winners (Educator:   Chere Hattingh) - Learners:   (project names:  Anxiety Exercises and Deaf Door Bell) - The two Mantyi sisters, Marko Wienand, Siyema Mdyogolo, Xionghui ZwengCongratulation to all the educators, learners and schools!
Third Place - Alexander Road High School with tablets for all third place winners - (Educator:  Landie Oosthuizen) - Learners: (project name:  Sensor System) - Sasha Chanetsa, Jaelynn Jacobs
First Place -  Linkside High School with laptops for all first place winners (Educator: Afikile Sikwebu) - Learners: (project name:  Noise detector) -  Abenathi Msizi, Keano Nadison, Ozayo Mhlophe, Illyaas Potgieter, Amanda Dayimani, Ahluma Mahobe
