Organized in eight chapters, each focused on one Italian region explored through the lenses of literature, art, history, popular culture, and cinematography, Caleidoscopio fosters student-centered discovery learning through percorso scritto and/or percorso orale activities. The five sections of each chapter integrate language and cultural content and include original readings, audio files, literary excerpts, contextualized grammar reviews, guided analysis and discussion of photographs and films.
Caleidoscopio includes audio files, testing programs, answer keys to all exercises, teacher's note, Student Activity Manual, glossary, and a sample syllabus.
Voci dal Sud explores the "southern questions" from the time of the Italian unification until today through a discussion of the book "Christ Stopped at Eboli" (Cristo si è fermato a Eboli) by Carlo Levi. Large excerpts of Levi's books as well as writings in prose and essays by southern writers are included. The book also includes a discussion of Levi's art and of Francesco Rosi's film "Christ Stopped at Eboli".
