Reflecting on the Edtech Master’s Program prompts me to consider the future. I want to take the learning from this year and a half and continue to put it to use each year in my classroom to impact the classroom experience and student learning.
As a professional, I would like to continue my role as a technology innovator and coach for my grade-level team and the rest of the school staff. If I am to stay in this district, I would like to stay in my current role as a classroom teacher. In the future, I plan to submit my TPDP to the district to lead professional development sessions on the Technology Integration Matrix based on its impact at my school. I do not have plans to advance from a teaching role to a TOSA role, yet. My district is very small and currently has a minimal education technology department. If this department were to expand, I would consider stepping into a TOSA role, but I would move to a larger school district that has a more open mind about technology innovations.
My goal for next year is to develop a system for gamification and badging. The level of engagement and inspiration it had on my learning leads me to believe it will be a beneficial experience for my students. As I continue to consume research about education technology, I will share innovations and best practices with my PLC. I will become a leader the CSUF Master’s Program has guided me to become and continue developing my practice and by coaching others to do the same.
Finally, as I continue to teach over the course of the next two decades, I am going to be leading the way for technology change in my school and district. I will be showcasing what I learned as a coach to inspire and create change in the world of education technology. I am going to get there by developing my students and colleagues into technology innovators.
