Meet the DSN Leadership Team!

Gwynn Moore is currently Chair of ISTE Digital StoryTelling Network [DSN]. Over the past 27 years Gwynn has mainly taught 1st-5th grades, with teaching summer school for grades 6-12. The last 4 years she has been the Instructional Media/Technology Teacher at Aurora Frontier P-8 in Aurora Colorado, teaching students 5-8 and co-teaching/coaching grades K-4. For 10 years she worked in a dominate ELL school with grades K-5 with Spanish being the dominate non-English Language. She also works with many African and Asian refugee students. Learning to Integrate technology across the curriculum has led Gwynn to share her learning and passion for technology and Second Language Learners through presentations on a variety of topics which have earned her recognition and training certifications. She is also Chairs her local teachers association AEA Technology Integration Caucus. Gwynn’s many professional presentations include: CO InnEdCo conferences: 2010-2018, ISTE: 2010, 2012-2018; SD-TIE, CO CCRIA: 2008- 2015; and ITEC 2009. Recognitions: 2011 Microsoft Innovative Educator, Microsoft Certified Teacher, Google Level 1 & 2 Certified Teacher, Tech4 Learning Innovative Educator, Discovery Education-Colorado Leadership Council member and a Discovery Star Educator.

Julie Jaeger, Professional Development Coach/Consult, is a veteran Gifted Educator, Tech integrationist, and 4-8 Educator. She enjoys bringing “a-ha” moments and higher order thinking to educators and students in the areas of Technology integration, Differentiated instruction, Digital StoryTelling, and Curriculum Enrichment via Higher Order Thinking, Problem Solving and Questioning Strategies. Currently Outgoing Chair of ISTE’s Digital StoryTelling Network [DSN], Board Member of ND Association for Gifted Children, ExploraVision Ambassador, FableVision League of Visionaries, and ND ESSA Team. She worked with Bernajean Porter in the development of the I-imagine: Taking My Place in the World project and was published in ISTE’s Learning and Leading magazine. She was named TTI Teacher of the Year, MPS Teacher of Year, and received the 2016 Digital StoryTelling Creativity Leadership award. She has presented sessions and workshops at Regional and National conferences as well as instructing numerous PD sessions on a variety of topics and graduate level PD courses for local universities. Julie has a MS in Education with a Focus on Technology Integration, Credential in Gifted Education, and BS in Elementary Ed and Speech/Language Pathology.

Laurie Guyon is the Assistant Coordinator for Model Schools at Washington-Saratoga-Warren-Hamilton-Essex BOCES in Saratoga Springs, New York. In this role, she provides professional learning workshops, coaching, and training on technology integration. She also provides online training with NYSCATE and is a member of the NYSCATE Social Media Team. Laurie was inducted into the Volunteer Hall of Fame for NYSCATE in 2017. Laurie was named CoSN's Emerging Edtech Leader for 2020. She is a Common Sense Ambassador, Google for Education Certified Educator, level 1 and 2, and a Google Certified Trainer. She is a Buncee Ambassador and Leader, Seesaw Ambassador and Pioneer, Nearpod Educator and PioNear, Flipgrid Ambassador, Sphero Hero, Wonder Squad Ambassador, Tynker Blue Ribbon Educator, Amazon Inspire Innovator, Apple Teacher, BreakoutEDU Authorized Trainer, Alpha Squirrel, Wakelet Ambassador, 3D Bear Ambassador, Osmo Ambassador, Kami Hero, and a Screencastify Master Screencaster. She taught workshops at Skidmore College on integrating technology in literacy. She has taught online webinars with the Greater Capital Region Teacher Center. Laurie received her BA, MST, SBL, and SDL through SUNY Plattsburgh. She is an adjunct professor for Plattsburgh where she teaches Digital Age Learning. Danielle Abernethy fell in love with the ancient art of storytelling around the campfires when her father was stationed in Germany. She is a former teacher and Instructional Technology Coach from Sumter, SC. While there she served on the state technology standards committee, participated in with Scholastic projects, was named a Tech4Learning Innovative Educator, presented at South East state conferences and ISTE, was an INTEL Master Teacher and was a DEN Member. During this time she also became interested in Digital Storytelling and was even honored with a scholarship from the Discovery Educator Network to attend a one day workshop with Bernajean Porter at T+L in 2005. She then moved to Florida 10 years ago to help grow the North Florida Discovery Educator Network, continuing to share her love of digital storytelling possibilities and creative technology in the classroom. She now works for Tech4Learning as the Integration Specialist, volunteers with SC’s Future Business Leaders of America, and continues to foster her love for creativity blooming in the classroom. Danielle holds a Masters Degree in Educational Technology from Lesley University.

Beth Hamlin is a self-proclaimed geek who loves digital badges. She became a Google Certified Innovator (Teacher) in Sydney, Australia in 2011, a Google for Education Certified Trainer in 2015, Raspberry Pi Certified Educator in Manchester, UK in 2016, and Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) in 2019. She loves presenting and sharing creative ways to utilize G Suite tools, Chromebooks, Computer Science, and other technologies such as 3D printers and Raspberry Pi. She has been working in education for nearly 2 decades and feels passionate about speaking from experience and with a sense of humor. Her goal is to connect with others to collaborate on making the world a better place through the continued improvement of educational experiences for children and adults.

Dr. Mary Townsend is an educator with 20 years of classroom experience. Before moving to Minnesota, she taught at a K-12 school in Upstate New York. After moving to Minnesota, she taught at Hubert Humphrey Job Corps in St. Paul. While employed at Job Corps, she worked with a small group from the US Air Force on testing their design of educational software for math and science. This experience instilled a love of educational technology that has stayed with her and inspired her to pursue my doctorate in educational technology. While working at Henry Sibley High School, she has taught world history, geography, government, economics, AP Macroeconomics, and AP Microeconomics.

She holds a Doctorate in Education in Educational Leadership in Education with a Specialization in Educational Technology. She is Google Level 1 certified, is a Nearpod Certified Educator, and a Quizizz Certified Game Changer. She obtained certification in Online and Blended Learning from Leading Edge and is a Personalized Learning Vanguard teacher, a Digital Peer Coach, and a member of her site’s Leadership Team. She is an experienced gamifier of the classroom, using ClassDojo and Classcraft to inspire students to work together to complete tasks. She uses VR headsets, a classroom cart of iPads and BYOD devices in her technology rich classroom.

She has presented at the MN DL Virtual Summit, the MN PL Summit, and as an Expert in the ISTE Expert Webinar Series.

Jessica Pack is a California Teacher of the Year (2014) and CUE Outstanding Educator (2014) who has been teaching for 15 years. She has used digital storytelling as an instructional strategy for 14 years and has presented on the topic at both regional and national conferences, including CUE and Fall CUE. Jessica is also a teacher-consultant for DIGICOM Learning, a non-profit aimed at promoting and supporting digital storytelling in Southern California classrooms. In this role, she is a lead instructor for professional development courses for teachers in the area of digital storytelling. Jessica and Georgia have recently launched a digital storytelling podcast and Jessica has published a book on iTunes called “Digital Storytelling: Connecting Standards to Movie-Making” (2013).

Georgia Terlaje is a seasoned educator who has taught for 31 years and is currently and instructional coach for Palm Springs Unified. She has used digital storytelling as an instructional strategy for 11 years and has presented on the topic at both regional and national conferences, including California Science Teachers Association (CSTA) and Teachers, Teaching and Media. She was also instrumental in creating PSUSD’s first elementary film festival that is now in its 4th year. Georgia is also a teacher-consultant for DIGICOM Learning, a non-profit aimed at promoting and supporting digital storytelling in Southern California classrooms. In this role, she is a lead instructor for professional development courses for teachers in the area of digital storytelling. Georgia and Jessica have recently launched a digital storytelling podcast, “Storytelling Saves the World.”

Julie Stewart Julie is a second-grade teacher and Technology Integration Specialist at Challenge to Excellence Charter School in Parker, Colorado. She has been a presenter at district to international level conferences. Along with various presentations and summits, Julie has presented at ISTE 2014 -2019. She has worked with Denver Zoo educational programs and is currently an independent contractor with McGraw-Hill on special projects. Julie recently joined the Colorado Regional Environmental Educational Leadership Council (CEEP) to help with environmental education. Julie has been teaching for 30 years and has embraced new technology being integrated into her classroom.

Conni Mulligan is a K-12 Technology Integration Specialist currently working as a Technology Facilitator at a high school in Charlotte, NC. She has presented at various conferences and workshops focusing on technology integration (ISTE, ICE, DEN, FETC, NCTies, SC EdTech and online) and puppetry (PofA, PofA-Southeast Regional Festival, PofA-PIET and online). Her current focus is blending digital tools/programs with the traditional storytelling technique of puppetry through a series of workshops titled: “Tra-Digital” Storytelling
