One of the questions we get often is....How do you Assess or Grade Digital StoryTelling Products. Join DSN Members and Execs as they share examples of their own DS Products …..AND review options for assessing student products. Using the DS 7 Steps, Take 6 Elements as well as literary components as the foundation for assessing student products, teachers can choose what is their focus for assessment rubrics. Participants will review the Steps and Elements and apply them during this Red Carpet Event of Showing and Sharing Teacher products.

Back to the Basics of setting up Digital StoryTelling in your classroom. Participants are introduced to Bernajean Porter’s 7 Step Process, the foundation to starting the DS process with students, and review how it assists with management as well as promotes student engagement and accountability. The Take 6 Elements developed by Bernajean to elevate student thinking and creativity is also part of the conversation. Starting Story, StoryBoarding, Finding Resources and Putting it all Together move students from Writer to Screenplay Creator to Director and finally Producer of their own work. Careful planning and use of digital resources to share the imagery of their story for an authentic audience elevates their thinking and creativity.
