The first record concerned two on St Martin's during October 1867. There were further records with the next on Tresco in October, 1905 and then 6 individuals during the 1950s, five on St Agnes during October and one picked up dead in November 1953.

There is just one spring record during May 1975. However, autumn is its main arrival time with 478 individuals during September, rising to 838 during October then just 38 occurrences in November and four in December, all during the 20th century that is covered here.
