The first record occurred in 1840 on Annet, with others in 1870, 1880, 1883, 1891 and 1943 with probably all on Tresco. During the 1950s there was one in 1951 and two in 1957.
This Siberian and North American wader is by far the commonest migrant wader arriving here, and as the graphs show, is on the increase with September being the peak month for arrivals.
