Explore Long Island Sound by boat and shore as you make friends and dive into hands‑on marine science. Each day includes outdoor learning on our research vessel or small boats to explore salt marshes, sandy beaches, rocky intertidal zones, and nearshore marine life. With guidance from professional marine scientists, you’ll work with real oceanographic tools—from trawl nets and seine nets to salinity meters, nutrient kits, and sediment corers. Team‑building and leadership activities complete the experience.
For aspiring marine scientists, this camp offers a unique opportunity to design and conduct a research project. Guided by professional marine scientists, students gain hands‑on experience using oceanographic tools and techniques aboard our boats, along the shoreline, and in our waterfront labs. Campers and staff form a close-knit community as they design and troubleshoot experiments, analyze results, and live together in our waterfront hostel. The program ends with a poster or symposium presentation for families, mentors, and peers.
With health and safety as our number one priority, we are happy to confirm that we are offering an array of unique and memorable camp experiences for children entering PreK-10th grade this summer!

At Deer Lake Day Camp, all are encouraged to partake in games, songs, and hands on activities, allowing each individual to gain knowledge of nature and the environment while having fun in the great outdoors. The importance of sharing leadership and effectively communicating and building friendships as one works with others is a key element often overlooked with today’s fast-paced lifestyle. Staff at Deer Lake will bring that back into focus with age appropriate activities, helping youth develop teamwork and leadership through non-competitive games and problem solving events. Fun in the outdoors is a large part of the experience, where lifetime friendships are formed.

The Academy started as Kidz Konnection, a youth theater company in 2006. We have dedicated to educating youth in the performing arts to cultivate self-empowerment and leadership skills that will develop strong community-serving leaders of the future. In 2017 the company moved to the historic Academy building in Clinton and is now a full performing arts academy. Offering performing arts and class opportunities to students as young as 5 up to Adults. Kidz Konnection, now Shoreline Theater Academy, was founded in 2006 by NYU Tisch School of the Arts graduate, Laura Attanasio, as an inclusive place for students to build community, explore classic literature, and express their creativity after school. From humble beginnings of less than ten students performing one show every few months, The Academy is now The Shoreline’s Best Arts Academy.
