Venue

The venue is in the smaller building to the left! If you look closely, you'll see an L-shaped terrace on the top floor. That's us! If you are viewing this on a phone, you may need to switch to landscape view in order to see both buildings.

Sala de Professorat

Edifici Josep Carner

Facultat de Filologia i Comunicació

Universitat de Barcelona

ARIBAU 6, Barcelona

A view from the back of the room: the door in the right gives access to the terrace.

The venue is on the fifth floor of the Edifici Josep Carner, one of two main buildings at the UB's Plaça Universitat Campus. One building is old (with access off Gran Via) and the other, the Carner building,  new  (with access off Carrer Aribau). There are three lifts to get you up to the fifth floor if you are not feeling athletic. If you enter the old building, you'll need to head steadily right until you come to a shady quad. (The quads are visible in the banner photograph.) A passage off the left-hand side of the quad (if imagined from the street) leads to the Carner building via a terrace.

The building has two set of doors: one is for the UB, and the other for a cinema. The difference is rather obvious!

Getting here

[Venue address]

By metro

"Universitat" is a station on L1 and L2. Look for exits signposted for "Plaça de la Universitat". Once in the square and facing the main university building, look for traffic lights and a crossing on the left: this will take you to the foot of Carrer Aribau. The Carner building is the first building as you head up Aribau, on the right.

By bus

The stop outside the Carner building, No. 316, is serviced by lines V13, 54, 63, and 67.

Getting around

Barcelona is served by a metro system, two suburban rail networks, city and metropolitan bus lines, two tram lines, and funicular railways. Thankfully, there is a single fare structure for all public transportation in metro Barcelona, with free transfer from one network to another within a 75-minute period.

If you expect to make fewer journeys, you may prefer the T-casual, at a price of 12.14. It's good for ten trips.

If you expect to make more than seventeen journeys over the course of your stay in Barcelona, the best value is the T-usual monthly pass for €21.35. If you buy it from a ticket machine you will be prompted to enter an ID number: just use your passport number and ensure that you carry a photo of your passport with you, on your phone.
