Curricular Offerings
The Iloilo State College of Fisheries has 37 programs in five different campuses, 10 graduate programs and 27 undergraduate programs. In the Main campus, there are 7 undergraduate and 7 graduate programs. In Barotac Nuevo campus, there are 5 undergraduate programs and 2 graduate programs. Five undergraduate programs are offered in Dingle campus and 4 undergraduate programs in Dumangas Campus. In San Enrique Campus, there are 6 undergraduate programs and 1 graduate program.
All 37 programs (100%) of Iloilo State College of Fisheries have undergone regular curriculum review to determine their continuing suitability, effectiveness, and alignment with the strategic direction of the institution and their compliance with the standard requirements of CHED. All the 27 bachelor’s degree programs have COPCs as well as 4 master’s degree programs (MIT, MHM, MFT, MDM) and 2 doctorate programs (DFishTech and DDM). Two (2) doctorate degree programs were already evaluated by OPSD, with CEB approval and in wait of the issuance of the certificates. Two (2) master’s degree programs were evaluated by Technical Panel. The Master of Arts in Educational Management (MAEM) was evaluated last September 12, 2022 and with CEB approval and the Master of Science in Agriculture (MSA) evaluated last September 22, 2022. Graduate and undergraduate programs of Iloilo State College of Fisheries have been approved by the Board of Trustees for implementation. The Bachelor of Science in Fisheries was granted by CHED as Center of Development (COD) in Fisheries.
The Quality Management System of the Iloilo State College of Fisheries for Administration and Higher Education of five campuses has been assessed and registered against the provisions of ISO 9001:2015.
Of the 37 programs of ISCOF in five different campuses, 10 (27%) are accredited Level III, 19 (51%) are level II, and 2 (5%) are Level I accredited. Out of 6 remaining programs, 1 is in the candidate status and 5 are new programs with first batch of graduates on August 17, 2022. These programs are undergoing accreditation visits this week (October 22-28, 2022).
Dissertation and thesis are a requirement of the course for all graduate programs. Graduate students are likewise required of a publication in a refereed journal prior to graduation. Thesis / capstone projects are required as pre-requisite to graduation in the undergraduate programs.
Enrollment
The enrolment status in the graduate school has been slightly decreasing for the past years, especially during the two pandemic school years. However, it has increased significantly during school year 2020 - 2021 by 148%. The enrollment had decreased over the past four academic years (from 2017 – 2018 to 2020- 2021) and it increased again during academic year 2021 – 2022.
In the baccalaureate programs, the enrollment has been gradually increasing.
