This year, the ISBE SAC made a bold transition from collectively researching one large, multidisciplinary topic to forming multiple autonomous focus groups being led by their curiosities.

In creating the groups, Co-chair Bryce Massey recorded the conversation that took place between ISBE SAC members and former State Superintendent, Dr. Tony Smith. The conversation was then analyzed, and thematic occurences that occurred within the conversation were noted.

SAC members were then grouped in accordance with their interests. This process resulted in ISBE SAC members organically forming their research groups, causing each SAC member to instantly recognize the significance of their voice.
