INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY OF QUALITY MEDICINE (ISoQM)
A scientific international society of multi-medical specialties
Message from the President of ISoQM
A scientific international society of multi-medical specialties
Dear colleagues,
The “4 SEASONS OF MEDICINE” is a series of educational events under the auspices of the “International Society of Quality Medicine” organized during each season of the year. It is committed to advancing scientific knowledge of multiple medical specialties on comorbidity issues that concern them.
More specifically, it is a critical link for medical professionals who work in a diverse range of medical settings and specializations and who strive to promote quality medical practice and foster up-to-date learning with the latest practicing guidelines and research developments in the field. Besides that, its crucial goal is to cultivate a positive spirit of professional cooperation between medical professionals by increasing their knowledge and efficiency in working together.
Moreover, the propagation of information of common interest on quality medical research, education, treatment, and prevention between professionals, is conducive in creating a healthy scientific atmosphere of co-operation between fellows on an international level. In any case, setting high standards of training and inspiring new developments in clinical applicability is a very exciting endeavor that invigorates the vision of the ISoQM. Making a difference in our daily medical clinical professional practice for our patients’ health and well-being must be the ultimate goal.
In order to accomplish this aspire, "The 4 Seasons of Medicine" provide podium not only to medical professionals of different specialties but also to professionals in areas ranging from the field of applied exact sciences to that of philosophy and further beyond. In that way, it aims at establishing and maintaining high levels of academic achievement and standards of competence.
The addressed themes are of key importance on the one hand to specialty health leaders, who could contribute to identify and strengthen existing health assets and to explore pathways for good medical practice. On the other hand, they are of decisive value for researchers and investigators from other sectors as well as for new colleagues, by offering a suitable academic atmosphere to develop inter-professional, interdisciplinary and inter-sectoral clinical collaboration.
Moreover, these themes are bound to provide sufficient evidence on medical morbidity and especially on treatment guidelines, thus leaving plenty of room for discussion and identification of certain "grey" interactive means and complex medical, social and psychological factors that can have a significant non positive effect to a quality professional intervention.
Any idea, thought or view is welcome for discussion.
Certainly, thoughts, ideas or notions do not substantiate on their own the medical function, as the theory in scientific literature does not substantiate the daily clinical practice.
The opposite is happening.
That is, the medical function substantiates our thoughts, ideas and notions, as the daily clinical practice substantiates the theory in our scientific literature.
The science but also the art and method of our medical specialty has the gift of creating in the present, conditions for a better quality of life for the suffering patient, though at the same time envisioning and looking forward to his future, while always contemplating at the past – sometimes taking it into account, sometimes revising it and sometimes rejecting it. Serviceable types of information are substantial and catalytic for a “good medical practice”.
In the frame of the scientific meetings of the "4 Seasons of Medicine", the above goal gave the spark for knowledge renegotiation, speculation and learning so that the above theoretical rough feel can give its place to a more realistic and applicable clinical practice which will substantiate, as much as possible, the theory of scientific literature.
Dear colleagues,
looking therefore forward to share with you this novel experience, I warmly welcome you to contribute with your work and your presence and to help us attain the ambitious program of these scientific events.

The grounds and thoughts of the above introduction come to a great extent, as I would like you to be aware of, from a previous foreword I made in 2005 in a twin society with similar aims to ours (see below).
