For the last two weeks from 5 - 3 - 26 our class has worked on two different powerpoints, the one ill be focusing on and showcasing was my Emerging Technology presentation. I didnt think this assingment was bad at all. I enjoyed learning of new technologies I would have never known existed or were in development beforehand. There is little information on them so seeing an early insight on what the technology could do will make the technology more interesting when it comes out to compare and contrast and see what features were cut or what was implemented and built upon.
When I was looking through emerging technologies to possibly research I found 6G mentioned, knowing that 5G wasn't extremely old it automatically peaked my interest and I had to make sure it was eligible by my professor to research. From my findings I found that 6G will be capable of quite a lot of things, one that I found notable was its speed, 5G now has around 1 Gbps upload speed, 6G absolutely crushes that with 1 TERABYTE upload speeds.
What. The. Hell.
My entire Xbox Series X has that storage space and a network can provide that same scale? Insane.
The image above is a slide from my PowerPoint, not exactly breathtaking but I thought it would be cool to show what 6G could do for us (the people of society) personally.
Well from this assignment and the previous PowerPoint we worked on I learned how to more effectively use CCBC's online library, also that the librarians are super nice and now I know what to ask for for an in person meeting with them to help me on my assignments. I also recently found the SmartArt options in PowerPoint which I never knew were available and I do think it helped make my PowerPoint more sufferable and organized while adding a new design touch, overall It wasn't a harsh assignment and I actually found my topic interesting so it wasn't a drag to complete.
For this assignment I had to choose a partner and we both had to share some facts and things we learned about two different places (countries) in order to put together our research and collaborate on a PowerPoint, I chose Sweden and my partner chose Japan.
From my partners research I learned that English is taught in their schools, I found this notable because Japanese isn't a course provided in the U.S. unless sought for outside of schools.
From my own research of Sweden I found that as seasons change so does the daylight and nighttime hours of the day, In the winter nighttime is most prevalent with about 4 hours of sunlight but in the summer it is opposite with only about 4 hours of nighttime during those days. Very different from what we have here in the U.S.
Here is the Worddoc and PowerPoint we created linked to their respective words.
I found it pretty easy to interact and professionally collaborate, I sent the PowerPoint to my partner via email and he was able to access and edit on his end and It would update on my end. I personally gained even more knowledge on Sweden from the researching portion in areas I haven't yet like their technology usage and culture. I didn't think anything else from this assignment was too new or unique but its always good to brush-up on PowerPoint skills since I've used PowerPoint in probably every college class I've had so far (15+).
