For this assignment I took a quick test and looked at some articles to analyze my personal Social Media usage along with other American statistics involving usage.
Source: Auxier, B. (2020, October 15). 64% in U.S. say social media have a mostly negative effect on country today. Pew Research Center. https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2020/10/15/64-of-americans-say-social-media-have-a-mostly-negative-effect-on-the-way-things-are-going-in-the-u-s-today/
Though many claim social media is a plague and has a negative impact on personal and the general population I find it interesting that so many still use it, many people taking this survey probably still have many social media accounts. I am also one of those people.
These are the results of the quiz.
Yeah...I do look down upon those people who are constantly on some app especially outside or in public places but often at home I am that same person. I get distracted and lost in the rabbit holes of social media but I believe that's exactly what they're designed to do, and they've created content creators who follow that same agenda with all of the tools given to them, such as a short form content area for every social media app ever.
Social media isn't what it used to be anymore, it went from a social platform to connect with others and make friends to marketing and keeping your attention. I think its now just addictive and a shell of what it used to be, what once was groundbreaking technology to communicate and share is now what a lot of other companies and products are now. Social media is now taking over peoples lives and soaking up all of their free time due to us being seen as consumers rather than users. I think were on such a roll and people are so reliant there is no reversal for these effects.
Through this assignment and taking the quiz I now know I'm not too far gone in the social media hole to ever come out, I don't think I ever will be because I enjoy life and never really had a phone growing up. I'm still active on social media but I'm not glued.
This assignment is for us to find and share media ethically, that media being anything from images to audio. Its just a showcase of the students ability to give info on where they got a piece of media they didnt create but may have edited or remixed.
I couldn't get any audio to be inputted into this website but I put a screenshot of two songs I've made terrible beats for, making these also pushed me to make a anime dub with my friends to make an episode of Jojo's Bizzare Adventure have really funny conversations, its in production.

I get why people want and push so hard for copyrights and ownership of their own work. This is a good example that copyrights arent hard to find nor create, Im deffinetly going to use these skills in the future to copyright any building plans I create to not get ripped off and end up homeless at 20. Theres alot of different files and ways you can intereact with the readers/visitors of a webpage and all methods can be customized with knowhow,
Used to watch his older videos all the time, he was the first youtuber that popped into my head when I was looking for a video for this assignment.
