History of JROTC

The mission of the Junior ROTC program is to motivate young adults to become better citizens. This program was established in 1916. Active duty soldiers were assigned to several school and each school needed a minimum of 100 cadets. In 1964, the vitalization act was passed which allowed retires to teach JROTC.

The JROTC Curriculum

The JROTC program provides cadets the motivation to remain drug free, graduate, and become better citizens. By signing up for JROTC, the student has no military obligation, but, if they complete two or more years of JROTC and then enlist after high school, they may be advanced to the rank of E-2 (Private). The program is a cadet led class that allows students to assume positions crucial to the success of the battalion.
