Advanced Painting & Drawing

This semester studio course was created to serve the needs of the advanced student artist. This course asks the student artist to work with thematic content in the context of the studio culture, and encourages experimentation and gradual refinement of the artistic process. Emphasis is placed on independent artistic behaviors and decisions which foster growth within a teacher-guided atmosphere. Student artists will work in a variety of drawing, painting, and mixed media applications as best fits the development and processes required for the intended thematic exploration. Student artists will learn to utilize critical thought processes to guide exploration of artwork content and context. Development of a website serves as the students digital portfolio.

Prerequisite: Painting 2 or Drawing 2.

This students semester theme was Growing UP. Her works represented different stages of growing from childhood to adolescence to the future.

This students Semester theme was Mackinaw Island, where she made lots of memories over the years with her family.
