How to get to the University of Limerick
The University of Limerick is located in Castletroy, approximately 3km from Limerick City Centre. Parking will be extremely limited, especially on Friday, therefore we highly recommend using one of the public transport options below:
Bus
Frequent buses connect Limerick City Centre to UL, including the 304, 304A, and 310. Adult fares typically range from €1.90 to €2.20 (cash) or via the TFI Leap Card. Please note that credit/debit cards are not accepted. See more information on the Bus Éireann website here. There are a number of bus stops located in Castletroy in close proximity to the University of Limerick. You should disembark at the University of Limerick (Stables) bus stop (number 16 on the campus map).
Taxi
It is possible to hail a taxi from the street, but convenient taxi ranks are located on O'Connell Street and William Street. Some taxis will accept card payments but others will only accept cash, so be sure to ask the taxi-driver if they accept card if you do not have cash. The average cost from Limerick City Centre to UL is approximately €15-€20. Find a list of Limerick taxi operators here. Alternatively, you can book and pay for a taxi via the Swift Taxis app or FreeNow app.
Cycling/Walking
UL is a Smarter Travel Campus featuring a scenic pedestrian and cycling path along the River Shannon. The local bike-share scheme, TFI Bikes, features stations across the city and campus. From the city centre to UL is approximately 20 minutes cycling or 60 minutes walking.
Accommodation
Please note that no discounted accommodation rates are available for conference attendees. Participants are kindly advised to make their own arrangements as soon as possible and to book directly with accommodation providers.
For convenience, we list some accommodation options below which are located close to the university campus, or are well-connected by public transport:

Parking
Please note that parking availability on campus is very limited for conference attendees, particularly on Friday.
Parking on campus includes free open parking and paid parking. The paid parking is charged at a flat rate of €3.00 per day and must be paid in cash.
Staff parking areas require a valid staff permit; vehicles parked without the correct permit may be subject to clamping, which is strictly enforced.
Attendees are therefore strongly encouraged to consider alternative modes of transport when travelling to the conference.
