Professor Mairead Moriarty is a Professor of Applied Linguistics at the Centre for Applied Language Studies, University of Limerick. She is widely published in the field of minority language planning and policy. She is also widely published in the field of linguistic and semiotic landscaping and recent work has included patterns of multilingualism in the linguistic landscape of Limerick as well as on issues of environmental humanities and public health. She is widely published in key journal in these respective fields including International Journal of Multilingualism, Language and Society and The Linguistic Landscape Journal. Â
Professor Jasone Cenoz
Jasone Cenoz is Professor of Educational Sciences at the University of the Basque Country. Her research focuses on minority languages, multilingualism, multilingual education, and second and third language acquisition. She has led numerous European and national research projects and has published extensively in international journals and books. She has been a visiting professor and researcher at the University of Chicago and the Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY).
She received the Spanish Association of Applied Linguistics Award for her book Towards Multilingual Education (2009) and the Ikerbasque Research Award (2022), and holds an Honorary Doctorate (Honoris Causa) from the Universitat Jaume I. She is a member of the Advisory Council of the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI).
