Workshop / Taller de experimentos: "Descubriendo la luz"
At IOPTICA, we firmly believe that the most effective way to understand science is through hands-on experimentation. That's why we are thrilled to offer our workshop, designed to immerse participants in fundamental concepts such as refraction, diffraction and fluorescence through direct experimental demonstrations.
Our workshop is tailored for secondary school students or those in the final years of primary school, although we welcome interest from any other educational contexts. En IOPTICA creemos firmemente que la mejor manera de entender la ciencia es a través de la experimentación. Por eso, ofrecemos nuestro taller Descubriendo la luz, diseñado para enseñar a los participantes conceptos fundamentales en óptica, como la refracción, la difracción y la fluorescencia, a través de sencillas demostraciones experimentales.

Seminars / Seminarios "Del laboratorio al aula"
The members of IOPTICA conduct cutting-edge research in the laboratories of IO-CSIC. However, high school students often have limited exposure to the reality of scientific careers. That's why we present the seminar series Del laboratorio al aula (From the Lab to the Classroom), aimed at inspiring young minds to pursue scientific pathways.
Through engaging talks, we provide insights into the diverse research topics within our group. If you're interested, reach out to us at laboratorioalaula@gmail.com, and we'll provide you with a copy of our current catalogue of talks. We offer live presentations in Madrid, as well as online sessions for audiences across Spain.
Los miembros de IOPTICA llevan a cabo investigaciones de vanguardia en los laboratorios de IO-CSIC. Sin embargo, los estudiantes de secundaria a menudo tienen una exposición limitada a la realidad de las carreras científicas. Por eso presentamos la serie de seminarios Del laboratorio al aula, con el objetivo de inspirar a las mentes jóvenes a estudiar carreras científicas.
A través de charlas divulgativas, explicamos los diversos temas de investigación dentro de nuestro grupo. IOPTICA SCIENTIFIC SEMINARS
In a research center like ours, researchers work in a plethora of highly specialized topics, often unaware of each other's endeavors despite our proximity. With IOPTICA's scientific seminars, our aim is to convene the members of our research community in an annual gathering to showcase and discuss our findings over the past year.
This event provides anexcelent opportunity for young researchers to present their work for their first time, including projects from their bachelor's, master's or PhD theses. Furthermore, we extend invitations to esteemed experts in Optics and Photonics from around the globe, enriching our event and solidifying its status as a cornerstone of our yearly agenda.
Collaborations with Ciudad Ciencia and Ciencia en el barrio
We are delighted to collaborate with the Department of Cultura Científica at CSIC. Over the years, we have partnered with them on projects such as Ciudad Ciencia and Ciencia en el Barrio. These initiatives are designed to bring science to communities with limited access to scientific resources and to high schools facing high dropout rates, respectively.
Through our involvement in these projects, we endeavor to ignite a passion for science among young students and inspire them to continue their education.
