The purpose of Interventional Wellness
We believe people living with persistent pain deserve compassion, practical support, and the possibility of a fuller life. Interventional Wellness grew from a love story and a determination to keep asking what carefully adapted massage might make possible alongside medical care.
The person behind the work
Our work is led by Jason Barclay, a Washington-licensed massage therapist based in Bellevue. His massage training began at the Swedish Institute in New York and continued through further study. Washington massage license: MASS.MA.70073137.
Why we share the approach
We want to make the reasoning behind our work available to other therapists and researchers. Our Detailed Methodology describes preparation, the treatment environment, broad-to-specific massage, dynamic pressure, and care between visits. We share these ideas so they can be examined, challenged, and improved.
Hope that invites investigation
Our early experiences gave us reasons to investigate. They do not establish what every client will experience. We are working toward a clear, reproducible method and research that records improvement, unchanged responses, and harms with equal care.
Where we go from here
We welcome clinicians, physical therapists, massage educators, and researchers who can help refine the approach and test its limits. Our developing Migraine Informed Massage teaching pilot focuses on consent, tolerability, clinical boundaries, and a decision process that another therapist can understand.
Our wider writing explores stress, communication, and self-development. We offer it as reflection and education alongside the clinical material, with each medical claim needing its own evidence.
