O Congresso Internacional Tempos do Barroco. Cenários da mesa é uma iniciativa conjunta da Associação Cultural Castilho e Távora, do Instituto de História da Arte da Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, da Escola Superior de Educação do Politécnico do Porto e do Centro de Investigação Transdisciplinar Cultura Espaço e Memória, com o apoio do Município de Vila Nova de Foz Côa. Durante três dias pretende-se refletir sobre o lugar da Mesa na vivência quotidiana e festiva dos séculos XVII e XVIII e debater as formas de projeção das linhas de pensamento do barroco na contemporaneidade. Para além das comunicações, o congresso integrará um programa de música barroca e de visitas pela região do Vale do Côa, local arqueológico, classificado pela Unesco em 1998 como património da Humanidade.

The International Congress Baroque Times.  The table´s scenography is a joint initiative of the Cultural Association Castilho and Távora, the Institute of Art History at the School of Social Sciences and Humanities of Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, the School of Education at the Polytechnic Institute of Porto, and the Center for Transdisciplinary Research - Culture, Space and Memory of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto with the support of the Municipality of Vila Nova de Foz Côa. Portugal.

Over the course of three days, we intend to reflect on the place of the Table in the daily and festive life of the 17th and 18th centuries and to debate the ways in which the lines of thought of the Baroque are projected into contemporary times.

In addition to the talks, the congress will include a programme of Baroque music and visits to the Vale do Côa region, an archaeological site classified by Unesco in 1998 as a World Heritage Site.
