PERCUSSION – Bells, stand, matching bell mallets. Snare drum and practice pad (or just practice pad), stand, sticks. Sticks must be concert snare sticks, NOT marching or drum set sticks. Vic Firth SD1 are recommended. Cracked sticks must be replaced. (If you are renting a kit, I suggest renting the bell set and drum PAD kit, not the kit that comes with bells and a snare drum. We have a few snare drums at school to use, but typically play only on pads at the beginning. In addition, percussion students will perform in concerts on both snare -school owned is fine- and pads. Students will rotate through these to help with the overall balance.)

Ukulele (soprano, concert or tenor sized) -- The school owns a set of soprano ukuleles to have for class use so that students don't have to bring these more delicate instruments on the bus. It is ideal for a student to have their own ukulele at home, but if that is financially impossible please let me know and we can work around it.

Percussion should have the book that has snare and bells. The 8th grade percussion students do not have to have this book - we will be using what they have.
Some more advanced students might need book 3. We'll decide that as the year progresses.
