In regard to our peer evaluation, we thoroughly examined Group E's interactive learning resource. Their interactive learning resource on Advanced Placement Economics Education can be accessed here. Our approach to the peer evaluation involved brief group discussion about our thoughts on the resource before individually assessing the resource on our own blogs. Please note that some sections of this evaluation may diverge from what is presented in the learning resource, as we want to include some of the things brought up in our discussion. Individual peer assessments from our group members may be found here, here, and here.
Group Commentary
Overall well put together. The consistency of the font and colors minimize any chances of viewers getting overwhelmed.
There are nice visuals for almost every page, which set a tone for the oncoming content.
Content is split up evenly, and at least one visual is present on each page to set a tone.
Group Criticism
Some sections could be added together to lessen the length of the side menu, such as learning outcomes and learning activities
Consider moving resources to the end, near references, as it interrupts the flow of the user going through content. Since it is just a list of links, it would fit better next to references (also links).
Our group did end up deciding to make major changes to our learning resource after peer evaluations were sent to us. Group B summarized several major parts of our resource that were in need of changes regarding both content and visual design. We took almost all of the feedback given to us into consideration, with an acception of several comments that we decided not to incorporate into our work.
Specifically regarding the Assessment Plan page in our resource, we decided not to follow through with the following observations:
"We also suggest displaying the grids vertically instead of on the same line so it is easier to read"
"It would be great if you could add when an assessment is happening, with who, and how they will be submitted to your tables, so it's clear for a prospective learner"
The first observation listed above was not changed because we felt it would be more confusing to display the grids vertically. We decided to adhere to what we felt was more "syllabus-like" even though our learning resource is not meant to be a strict course. The second suggestion was not incorporated because the learning resource, as a hypothetical, did not have specific start dates. Moreover, we felt that this could be completed on the learners own time.
