MSc Samuel Oluwasegun Adesida

Samuel Oluwasegun Adesida is an early-career researcher and Ph.D. candidate with the West African Science Service Centre on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL). His research focuses on understanding the drivers of vascular plant diversity and community assembly on tropical inselbergs in southwestern Nigeria, with particular emphasis on functional diversity, climate change vulnerability, and biodiversity conservation. 

Through an integration of field ecology, functional trait analysis, spatial approaches, and species distribution modelling, his work seeks to understand how environmental change shapes plant communities and inform biodiversity conservation. His broader research interests include biodiversity–environment relationships, ecological interactions,  as well as, conservation of tropical ecosystems.
