Why it matters: Hosted within the speciesLink network and developed in partnership with the Center for Reference Information on Environmental Information (CRIA), the Inselberg Flora Photo Library is an open-access collection of photographs documenting the biodiversity of tropical inselbergs. The initiative brings together images of species, habitats, ecological interactions and field activities, creating a valuable resource for research, conservation, education and public outreach
Title: Sugarloaf Land in south-eastern Brazil: a tropical hotspot of lowland inselberg plant diversity – Supplementary Material
Source: Supplementary Data to de Paula et al. 2020
Why it matters: This open-access dataset provides one of the most comprehensive inventories of plant diversity ever compiled for tropical inselbergs. The resource includes records for 548 vascular plant species (505 angiosperms, 43 ferns and lycophytes) occurring on lowland inselbergs of the Brazilian Atlantic Forest. For each species, the database provides information on conservation status, life form, habitat, origin, voucher specimens and links to herbarium images. The dataset represents a valuable resource for biodiversity research, conservation planning, ecological studies and the documentation of one of the world's most diverse inselberg floras
