Renato Carvalho Franco is an Environmental Technician and Agronomy student with extensive experience in field operations, ecological restoration and biodiversity conservation projects. His work focuses on botanical surveys, plant identification, seed collection, ex situ conservation and the implementation of field-based conservation initiatives in natural and human-impacted landscapes.
Over the past years, Renato has contributed to large-scale restoration and conservation programs in Brazil, including the Brumadinho Forest Restoration Program and projects focused on the conservation of threatened native tree species in the Paraopeba River Basin. His experience combines field logistics, floristic surveys, forest monitoring, geospatial data collection and the management of native plant genetic resources.
At the Inselberg Biodiversity Lab, Renato supports biodiversity inventories, ecological fieldwork, plant propagation and conservation actions focused on inselbergs and other terrestrial island ecosystems. His practical expertise in field operations and restoration ecology plays an important role in bridging scientific research and on-the-ground conservation efforts.
