Hello, Second Graders!
This Inquiry Guide will help you learn about nutrition. By the end of the unit, you will be able to identify ways to be healthy, how to make healthy choices, and how healthy food fuels your body. You will also learn how to be an information detective! You will have the chance to ask questions about nutrition that interest you and learn how to find the information you need to answer these questions.
Dear Teachers,
The purpose of this unit is to help students develop their information finding skills while learning about nutrition. You will be using the Krueger model for "Digital Citizenship - Information Evaluation - Student Assessments for School Library Lessons with Student Inquiry Research" to guide students through the inquiry process using books, encyclopedias, websites, and videos. Students will transition from teacher-led inquiry to small group collaboration to independent exploration. This unit is based on the AASL Standards as well as the Iowa Core Standards and are listed below. At the bottom of each page on this site, you will find a link to the resources and lesson instructions that you will need to guide your students through this process.
